New software features enhance robot’s flexibility

110722_RodriguezThe third generation of the highly economical and flexible Universal Robot has just been released and it introduces additional programming capability and a new lighter weight teach pendant. New software features collectively enhance the robot’s ability to be tailored to the needs of the application through simple, menu-driven steps.

The controller incorporates a faster processor and a new design touch screen display, which weighs 50% less than the previous unit, enabling easy handling when programming. The robot also has enhanced process reliability features such as faster brake release after an emergency stop and protected PC power supply.

RA Rodriguez says it is unsurprising that the Universal Robot is finding the greatest favour amongst the UK’s SME community. This small, light weight robotic arm with six axes of movement provides simple, plug-and-play productivity and makes automation easily accessible for any manufacturer.
