Gap measurement is faster and easier

111128_MEMicro-Epsilon’s gapCONTROL 2711 is a non-contact laser profile scanner that is designed specifically for the measurement of gaps and edges, whilst simplifying sensor set up and configuration for the user. Typical applications include robot welding machines.

The gapCONTROL 2711 laser profile scanner incorporates the same hardware and software interfaces as the company’s existing scanCONTROL 2710 and 2810 laser profile sensors, but provides specific application software for gap measurement. This means that users can quickly and easily set up and configure the scanner without requiring any specific knowledge or programming skills.

The gapCONTROL 2711 records, measures and evaluates gaps on a variety of different target surfaces. Setup Software the user is guided through sensor set up and configuration very quickly for each gap measurement task.

Chris Jones, managing director at Micro-Epsilon UK comments: “We listened to customers of our scanCONTROL sensors who were using these to measure different types of gaps but were spending too much time setting up and configuring the sensor for these applications. It became clear that these users would benefit greatly from a new sensor that would be faster and easier to set up, would require little or no technical support and would also provide intuitive, application-specific software for the most common types of gap measurement tasks.”
