Andrew Mason takes up council position with BARA

131011_RodriguezThe growing importance of automation in British manufacturing has prompted the British Automation and Robot Association (BARA) to bolster its visibility. One of the steps it has taken is to introduce three new council positions to expand resources in its dealings with the Government and industry as well as financial and academic institutions.

Two of the new appointees speak for robot suppliers and academia. The third new council position has been awarded to Andrew Mason who represents automation product providers using robotics. Andrew is automation sales manager with RA Rodriguez, a company which recognised and developed its customers’ clear needs for simple automation.

“It may have taken the UK longer than most countries to see the value of automation but now it is definitely playing an important part in giving our manufacturers a competitive edge,” Mason explains. “It’s important that OEMs and subcontractors realise that automation and robot-assisted production is now available to industry at large, not just the traditional automotive sector.

He adds: “BARA was established to promote the use of robots and automation in British industry and assist in its development. I’m delighted to be playing my part and will definitely be flying the flag for the low-end user who stands to benefit from automation as much as established, volume producers.”
