Minitec appointed system integrator for Techman

230317_MinitecLG Motion has appointed Basingstoke-based Minitec UK, which specialises in aluminium profile solutions for a wide range of industries, as a systems integrator for collaborative robot solutions in the UK.

The new partnership will give Minitec UK access to the full Techman Robot collaborative robot series to help integrate complete robotic solutions for customers nationwide.

The Minitec range of modular aluminium profiles and accessories combine to create an array of bespoke solutions, making it the ideal fit for the collaborative robot solution, which is often mobile so that it can be redeployed across a range of tasks within a business.

The two businesses will combine industry skills to ensure that customers can benefit from collaborative robot use for repetitive tasks, an area of automation currently experiencing massive growth. The flexibility of the Techman cobot arms’ combines with the ability to frame or position the solution across a wide range of industries.

With a dedicated design team in the UK and a global network of partners with a vast library of bespoke products, Minitec has access to ideas and solutions that can improve most industrial processes.

Managing director of LG Motion, Gary Livingstone said: “Minitec is already a major partner when it comes to our motion technology solutions so this was a logical step for us. The versatility of the aluminium profile combined with the endless possibilities of the collaborative robots, allows us to tap into new markets seamlessly with the combination of resources from Minitec and Techman.”

An example of the collaboration capabilities was recently demonstrated at a trade show, where LG Motion combined the TM5 cobot with a MiniTec conveyor, as shown in the video.
