Following trials of the first JetSnake system in Miami in 2013, Bouygues Travaux Publics (BYTP) ordered a system for the Tuen Mun Check Lap Kok Link (TMCLK) currently under construction between the mainland and Hong Kong International Airport.

Improvements to the original JetSnake design include increased length, operation at higher pressures (up to 5bar), and advanced integration with the tunnel boring machine (TBM) for quicker installation and maintenance.

Working in temperatures of up to 45 degrees Celsius and 100% humidity, the arm is equipped with a high pressure water jet for cleaning and a camera and lights for real time process monitoring and inspection. A new machine vision system has also been integrated to profile wear on the disks on the TBM cutting head.
