Schunk expands its team in the North and Midlands

Schunk Mark ListerTo support growth and enhance customer experiences and service, Schunk has expanded its team with the addition of Mark Lister and Steve Hardwidge.

Steve will be servicing the needs of customers in the North West whilst Mark will be catering for the rapidly expanding sales in the North East and Scotland. The addition of two new Area Sales Managers will add to the experienced team that already includes Mr Alan Cleaves (South West), Martyn Wiltshire (South East), Steve Brookes (West Midlands) and Steve Bower (East Midlands).

Martin Kent, director and general manager of Schunk Intec, says: “We have worked very hard to support our customers and have done many things to improve our customer experience. In 2015, we will be continually adding value to this.”

This team of six sales managers will enable Schunk to effectively service customer demand whilst introducing the benefits of its new product offerings. This will include the promotion of the new TENDO-EC toolholders that have been proven to improve machining efficiency by up to 300%. As part of the world’s largest chuck jaw programme, Schunk can offer more than 1,200 different types of jaws.

Additionally, Schunk is now highlighting the benefit of eGrip, world’s first commercially available (3-D printed) gripper finger design application that uses additive manufacturing technology.

With the growing demand for clamping and gripping systems in the UK, Schunk is experiencing positive sales growth with demand up by 25% in 2014 compared to 2013.

Worldwide, Schunk is forecasting ambitious growth as part of its “Vision 2020″. For the UK operation to achieve its share of the growth, the team is set to expand further in the coming months. Through these initiatives, Schunk says its customer base will be fully supported to enable the end user to maximise productivity in clamping and gripping functions via the continually evolving product range.
