RNA showcases vision system and collaborative robot

150121_RNAOn Stand N61 at Southern Manufacturing, RNA Automation will demonstrate its standard glass disc vision inspection system that have been developed specifically for 100% quality control, as well as the latest in collaborative robotics.

The glass disc vision demo system is equipped with a vibrating bowl feeder, rotating glass disc and two inspection stations, to provide a cost effective and flexible solution for 100% quality assurance of parts. The RNA glass disc vision inspection system can be individually equipped according to the customer’s requirements, and has a wide range of applications from injection-moulded products to metal components, pharmaceuticals and many others. Up to 1200 parts per minute can be automatically inspected with a repeatability of ±0.002mm, with 360° coverage.

Bringing new possibilities to collaborative robotics, RNA Automation is also exhibiting the UR5 model from Universal Robots. The 6-axis robot weighs in at just 18kg and has a 5kg payload. It has a speed rating of 1m per second and runs on single-phase AC power and has a typical pay back of 6 months. The UR10 variant is also available with double the payload.

With a footprint of only 149mm, the collaborative robot arm will demonstrate how humans and robots can work together safely. With no guarding needed there is less space requirement and the robots can easily be redeployed to a new task. Visitors to the stand N61 will have the chance to interact with a live robot and experience the simplicity of programming.
