With over 500 visitors expected along with more than 50 exhibitors and over 40 technical presentations planned, this promises to be the biggest and best two-day conference and exhibition yet.

This industry specific event, organised by the UKIVA, is content packed with fantastic networking opportunities, live demonstrations and knowledge sharing, which is a perfect combination for existing machine vision users and engineers as well as educating those new to machine vision technology.

The conference will be held at the Coventry Building Society Arena on 20-21 June 2023 and is for the first time co-located alongside the new automation and robotics exhibition, Automation UK. This provides MVC visitors with the unique opportunity of seeing industrial applications of robotics and machine vision under one roof.

One of the highlights of the event is the seminar programme featuring leading speakers on a variety of topics, including camera technology, optics, illumination, 3D vision, and vision in robotics. With so many great sessions to choose from, visitors will have a tough time deciding which ones to attend.

The MVC conference keynote speaker will be Jeff Burnstein, President of the Association for Advancing Automation (A3). A3 is a trade group representing more than 1,000 global companies involved in industrial robotics, artificial intelligence, vision, motion control and related automation technologies.

Burnstein is a frequent commentator in the media and often discusses automation issues with policy makers, and regularly speaks on issues such as global automation trends, the impact of automation on jobs and the future of automation beyond the factory floor.

He will give an update on the machine vision market size in North America and current trends as well as giving show visitors an opportunity to hear about leading applications today and future applications for vision.

The founder and CEO of Lincode Labs (Stand 46), Rajesh Lyengar will present on automated visual inspection at every stage of manufacturing, focusing on the quality control method used in manufacturing. Automated visual inspection using AI vision can help factories to detect defects faster and more accurately.

Lyengar and his team are committed to helping manufacturers transform their operations to become smart factories utilising artificial intelligence and automation. They believe this shift will lead to increased productivity and efficiency gains for manufacturers.

The founder and CEO of Scorpion Vision (Stand 21), Paul Wilson, will give a presentation on 3D cameras, which includes a snapshot of the current market, applications, and problems they solve.

The industrial 3D cameras range from board level stereo cameras and time-of-flight sensors to the top end of the latest generation of 3D machine vision camera products. The 3D vision products range from bespoke systems to the most challenging industrial 3D robot guidance applications.

Scorpion Vision is an award-winning machine vision technology business. They solve complex problems with sophisticated machine vision system solutions.

The importance of illumination is often underestimated when it comes to vision systems. In his presentation ‘Camera, Lens… What about illumination?’, Thomas Armspach-Young, of Edmund Optics (Stand 38) will explain what and how to choose illumination for a set, in order to significantly improve the overall quality of the resulting image.

Armspach-Young will guide show visitors through the most common forms of illumination used for machine vision. He will highlight the advantages and disadvantages of each type and provide tips on how to get the most out of each type of illumination.

The content packed seminar programme provides visitors with a wealth of information and learning to take away, helping them to choose the right products and solutions for them. Along with an exhibition area where you can find over 50 suppliers of the latest products and services, there are over 40 seminar sessions to choose from.

There are many other compelling reasons to visit the show, including the opportunity to meet and connect with experts from the machine vision industry, talk to exhibitors that can directly help businesses, see live demonstrations, and hear from industry experts about new solutions in the machine vision industry.

No matter what level of interest or expertise in machine vision, there’s sure to be something at the show for everyone, which is why people looking to attend the event should register now. Admission to the conference is free.
